The Dela N5 Digital Music Library is the next generation of the acclaimed Melco concept for extreme sound quality from both music stored within the N5, networked music, and external streaming services when used with a USB-DAC.
All Dela Digital Music Libraries play music into either Network Streamers or will play into USB-DAC, and can also be configured to operate without an Ethernet network.
Dela N5 features all-new electronics, with a new mainboard, high grade low noise internal linear power supply and extensive pro-grade connectivity.
Mechanical construction contributes to sound quality by minimising vibration and resonances, with isolating HDD mounting, robust steel panels and substantial aluminium components, and TAOC cast iron feet.

Inbuilt benefits...
Unlike PC based systems, all Dela's have a dedicated PLAYER port. This allows connection directly to the network Streamer or Player without any data switch in the signal path which would damage the music data.
This direct connection concept Dela call Direct Streaming Music – DSM – and it is unique to Melco as is the Ethernet purifier between the LAN and PLAYER ports.
These technologies employed within Dela's DSM ensures that your player receives only clean and accurate data, all packets are timed with low-jitter precision and all unwanted traffic is blocked, even the LAN lights can be disabled for highest possible data integrity.
There are two methods of operation – Network Mode is the default and allows a tablet connected to the Wi-Fi to control the player as normal. But for ultra-pure music playback DIRECT MODE can be selected – in this case there is no need for any external Ethernet or IT components, and the Dela acts as DHCP server to the player, under these conditions all browsing and control is then from the player front panel.

Dela S10 Audiophile Data Switch

The limitation to the ultimate sound quality of digital music on an Ethernet network is the network itself and the components used.
IT components are low cost commodity items and are effective for PC data and gaming etc - they are simply inadequate for high quality digital music.
One critical component is all digital music systems is the dataswitch which handles both the music data and control either combined within your router or serarately.
The Dela S10 is designed and configured as an audiophile component without any IT compromises.
Dela owners have long realised the benefits of using Dela NAS without any network connection at all – but this is often not practical.
The S10 comprises a ‘head’ unit and a power unit, separating the sensitive data-carrying areas of the design from the power supply. The two-box approach echoes that of the N10/2 library, and offers the least compromise when it comes to ultimate sound quality.
The S10’s head unit is based on a heavily upgraded S100 network switch, and benefits from a greatly improved power management section, better aluminium casework and a rigid-steel screened chassis.
The rear panel connections include different-speed RJ45 Ethernet ports: 4x 100 MB and 4x 1 GB, plus 2x 1 GB SFP.

Dela S50 Audiophile Data Switch

November 2025 – DELA (formerly Melco) has announced the launch of the S50 Audiophile Network Switch, a new entry-level model designed to bring high-end network performance to a wider range of streaming-based hi-fi systems.
The S50 shares the same sound-first engineering philosophy as the mid-tier S5 and reference-level S1, but in a compact half-width chassis that integrates easily into modern hi-fi setups. Developed from the S1/S5 platform, the S50 introduces user-configurable network optimisation and an integrated AC power supply at a more accessible price point.
The DELA S50 is a managed switch, carefully programmed by the DELA sound engineers in Japan to optimise sound quality of even the most compromised data streams that may have been through many IT devices on the way to your home. Irrespective of the quality of the quality of the streaming data, the DELA S50 will ensure optimum performance from your Streamer and DAC.
The S50 simply connects between your router and your music streamer or server, improving signal quality across the playback chain. The new S50 is optimised for both local streaming and external streaming services, maintaining signal integrity.
The S50 includes 6 RJ45 ports and 3 SFP+ ports, offering flexible copper and fibre connectivity, including fibre isolation for systems requiring ultra-low noise. Port link speeds can be adjusted from the front panel, allowing lower speeds for player outputs (reducing switching noise) and higher speeds for servers, libraries, and Roon processing. Unused ports can be disabled to further reduce processing load and improve sound quality.
Front-panel indicators can be dimmed or switched off entirely for critical listening, and rear network activity LEDs can also be disabled to further minimise electrical noise.
For the first time in this class, the S50 features a rear-panel IEC mains input with universal voltage compatibility, providing a clean ground reference and eliminating the need for external power supplies.
A rear USB port supplies power for fibre modules or accessories.
