Spring Newsletter 2026
It’s hard to believe Spring has arrived! We enjoyed a busy start to the year with client demonstrations and home installations up and down the country. Some of the systems we recently installed have replaced older rack systems – why keep an old multi-shelf component system when a present-day integrated solution can sound so much better?
If you are planning on system downsizing or buying your first hi-fi system – we have a perfect solution for you. Contact us to audition and choose from our range of integrated and component music systems and enjoy unbelievable sound quality and beautiful design for an unobtrusive fit with your lifestyle.
More below – including two forthcoming events at House of Linn, our recent visit to Audiovector in Copenhagen, new adventures with power and a host of other upgrades that deliver more from your music.
Judging by how quickly the last three months have passed, it will soon be time for the annual North West Audio Show in June where we will be once again, welcoming you in the Mercer Room.
In the meantime, we hope to see you..perhaps at our exclusive Linn Launch event on April 30th and our Rum & Records evening on May 14th…read more below.

Many music lovers will have amassed large record collections over the years. We have in excess of 5000 vinyl records and have long looked for a way of easily cataloging the entire collection. We recently discovered this great app – Record Scanner – an easy way of scanning album covers and cataloging a record collection all the way to saving collections on an excel spreadsheet! The scanned output reveals track listings, editions of each album with current values for choosing the album cover scanned. You can even view your collection in virtual record racks! A must have for vinyl collectors who want to keep on top of their vinyl collections. Click on image below for more info. – works for CDs too!

It is more than 10 years since we designed and launched booplinth – the first machined from solid plinth for the Linn LP12 turntable. Constructed from machined layers of bamboo, booplinth is a low mass plinth designed to reveal more musical information. Booplinth is the first one-piece, precision machined plinth and universal performance upgrade for the Linn Sondek LP12 revealing hidden recorded detail and performance traditional LP12 plinth constructions simply cannot deliver.
Recent emails we received from new booplinth owners:
“ Hi Brian – This is one of the best upgrades I have done and I have done almost every LP12 upgrade in the past 45 years. I wish I did this a lot sooner but I did not think the plinth could have the effect that it does. Now I am a true Booplinth believer!! Again, I am very happy with your product. Thank you, Ken.”
“ Hi Guys – It’s been 6 weeks now since you sorted my Booplinth and I can only say how staggered I am by the improvement I am experiencing, impossible to put into words can only say the review from Roy Gregory is correct but till I heard it, the plinth that is, I didn’t believe it, I didn’t think my deck sounded like he describes but it did. This is a real musical improvement, possibly the biggest upgrade I have made to my system ever. So thank you both for the service and embarking on the project in the first place. All the best to you both. John.”
We are often asked how booplinth compares to the more recent Linn Bedrok plinth, also a one-piece design made of layers of beech and a high-mass plinth. Some of our clients have made the comparison – both are great plinth upgrade options for any LP12, so feel free to contact us to book your dem. Request a dem here
We know that even the best electronics can benefit from a better power cable. Reducing mains noise allows more of the musical texture and detail to flow. Having listened with various power cables over the years we adopted Puritan power cables and mains distribution with our systems for mains noise reduction at an affordable price.
More recently we listened with power cables from Nordost which we have added to our range and available for demonstration with the Nordost QBase Mark 111 Power Distribution Unit.
Just like any audio component, a power cable requires methodical, comparative and sometimes repetitive ABBA demonstrations by listening how progressive reductions in mains noise present quieter backgrounds with more of the natural detail and texture to instruments and notes.
The installation described below followed an enjoyable and informative afternoon demonstrating a system’s power cable options for our client – contact us for your personal demonstration. Request a dem here
